Seattle Shakespeare Company! They’re performing at the Cornish (formerly the Intiman) Playhouse. I’ve got like four half price tickets, and there should be a pay-what-you-can performance on…. Oh! It’s Wednesday night.
I had to post this here because I have no where else to post this (this is more of a Twitter post, but the theaters know who I am on Twitter). I just had the distinct pleasure of watching an actor rub his bloody hands all over another actor in a white dress. Granted, it’s on purpose, but I have to launder that.
I’d join in the naming fun, but I’m on mobile all day, and I can’t figure out how to change it today, so I thought I’d switch my avatar to celebrate the return of Orphan Black!
Just for you Enferdame, this is her kickass steampunk Hawkgirl cosplay.
Oh my gosh! Thank you for posting these! I’ve been having such a hard time finding pictures of the wings all the way open! And I was so glad I got to see you in the audience beforehand, it really meant a lot!
Was anyone else a little bit disappointed that the kick ass Lady Counsel Member turned out to be Natasha? Still love Natasha, but for a few glorious seconds, it was awesome to see an older woman come out of nowhere to kick ass
Some non-me related photos from ECCC. If you know who these amazing cosplayers are, and they have Tumblr, please, let me know so I can tag them! :)
From the top:
- Two amazing Lobos
- Steampunk Hawkgirl
- Batgirl and Scarecrow
- Charles Xavier and Max Eisenhardt (Professor X and Magneto)
- Skeksis and Kira from Dark Crystal
That’s me as Charles and my tumblr-less SO as Erik! Thanks for posting! :D
And there’s enferdame's gorgeous steampunk Hawkgirl!
Yay! Thanks! This may be one of my favorite pictures of me I’ve seen :)
Oooo a Queen Merida… that could be interesting… I want to do a Poison Ivy someday too, I just have to figure out what route I want to take with her. You know, an acting teacher once told me that I was “grand”. I’m still not sure whether or not he meant it as a good thing or a bad thing.
And I’m determined to do Catelyn Stark! Speaking of, when are we all going to the Game of Thrones exhibit at the EMP. I’ve lost my nights and weekends again for the most part, but since I’m working in the Center, I could come by on my break in between shows, or before my call time.
Bellatrix is totally cheating. But I understand because I have a hard time not just cosplaying her all the time. And I hadn’t thought about dressing up as Velma Kelly in AGES. (Stef, were you around when some of us did the Cell Block Tango for Drama Club? Or was that before your time? I was totally Velma Kelly).
all fandoms have that one fucking overused quote that is on 99.9% of the edits
sorry but AERYN FOR WORMHOLES and BEYOND HOPE are the best and we will never stop using them
Anyone who uses either BEYOND HOPE or FRELL ME DEAD in any part of a post is my friend forever.
one time in broadway’s lion king the actor playing simba was sick and so were his understudies so they literally called the lead in aida a few blocks away who played simba to come and fill in even though he hadnt played simba in YEARS and he did and the audience never knew and theatre is incredible
Ooooo I’ve got one! I was babysitting for an actor while he was in town here doing a show. His wife was playing Roxie Hart in Chicago and understudying Christina Applegate in Sweet Charity at the time. He was talking on the phone with her, and was laughing his head off. It was half-hour before curtain, and she was walking down the streets frantically changing her makeup because she had been getting ready to go on in Chicago and got the call to do Sweet Charity instead.
wtf is homecoming?? who is coming home??? where have they been??? did they bring souvenirs??
Do people not know this? It’s called homecoming because it’s actually to celebrate the alumni who are coming home, and it used to be that they would be participating in the big game that is often associated with homecoming. They’re coming from just having graduated from college that summer, or taking their first vacation from their new job to visit friends and family.
